From Oahu fly Hawaiian Airlines to Hilo Airport (there are two airports for the Big Island: Hilo Airport and Kona Airport).
From Hilo Airport:
From Hilo Airport to Arnott’s Lodge, by rental car: Drive out of Hilo Airport and make a right on Kanoelehua at the first traffic light. Stay on your far right lane and make another right on Kamehameha at the next traffic light. Drive 1.5 miles to Keokea Loop on the left; go down Keokea about 100 yards and you will see signage. The main lodge will be on the right side of the road.
The Hele-On public bus in Hilo is free to the public. The Keaukaha bus will go by near our lodge and also to the Hilo Airport. Ask the bus driver to let you out at Andrews Street, which is across the street from Keokea Loop. Visit the Hele-on website for an up-to-date schedule.
Hele-On Route 2: Blue Line stops at the Kona Airport.
Hele-On Route 1: Hilo-Kona goes through Kona town and up north of Kona.
Take a taxi or uber to Arnott’s Lodge.
Or if you want some exercise and go totally green, you can take a 1.5 hour walk to Arnott’s Lodge.
From Hilo Bus Terminal:
From the Hilo Bus Terminal, take the Keaukaha bus and ask the driver to let you out at Andrew’s Street near Arnott’s Lodge.
From Kona Airport:
From Kona Airport (1 hour and 45 minutes, via Highway 200/Daniel Inouye Rd.), by rental car: Please google search Kona Airport to Arnott’s Lodge.
From Kona Town:
Take the Hele On Bus from Kona on Ali’i Drive to the Mo’oheau Hilo Bus terminal. From the Mo’oheau Bus Terminal, take the Keaukaha Bus past Arnott’s Lodge.
Rental Cars:
Due to Hawaii being an island state, there is a limited supply of rental vehicles on each island.
Special events frequently take up all available cars.
